The B750 is a basic, 3/4HP equivalent belt-driven garage door opener from Chamberlain.  This ultra-quiet belt drive also comes with keyless entry, two remotes, wall controller, and sensors.  All the basic components you expect, plus Chamberlain’s superior range.  Their exclusive tri-band technology works up to 1500 ft away!

Similarities:

There are tons of similarities between the B730 and B750.  Both use security+ 2.0 encryption, include the same accessories, and are basic, quiet belt drive garage door openers.  They look the same and have the same power. 

Differences:

Here’s where the rubber meets the road.  There are two main differences between these two models, and depending on how you use your garage door opener and where you live, they may or may not even matter to you!

Battery Backup

Battery backup allows the garage door opener to continue working during power outages.  There’s nothing worse than not being able to get into your garage when you get home and it’s storming bad outside (or worse, hailing) because the power in your home is out.  Battery backup is included with the Chamberlain B730, but not the B750.

Built-in WIFI

Built-in WIFI allows for smartphone controls via the MyQ app.  You can open, close, and otherwise control your garage door remotely with you smartphone.  You can also get notifications when your door opens or closes.  This is available on the Chamberlain B750, but not the B730.

Which is better?

That really depends on what your needs are.  Clearly if you want to connect WIFI and be able to control your garage door remotely or better keep an eye on things at home, the B750 is the best route.  If that doesn’t matter to you, and you don’t think it every will, having the battery backup in the B730 is probably the better option.
